これから定理を述べるときのリード文

We state the following theorem. という言い方は、誤っているのでしょうか？それとも稚拙な（幼稚な、下手な）感じを与えるのでしょうか？
用例の状況としては、直前の段落では用語や記号の定義などの準備を一通りしていて、それが終わった後、「さて、ここで定理を述べます」と宣言して、Theorem 1. … という定理環境に入るような状況です。
「We state the following theorem.」は、誤っているとは言えませんが、やや不自然です。なぜなら、論理的には定理を導入するものとしても、定理と前述の準備とをつなぐものとしても、機能しないからです。
おっしゃったような状況において以下のいずれの表現も適切に使用できる場合があるでしょう。
1. With the above preparation, we have the following.
2. With the above preparation, the following is easily proved.
3. We now present the main theorem of this work.
4. Our treatment of … begins with the following theorem.
5. We are now in a position to state the following fundamental theorem.
6. Let us begin with the following basic/fundamental/important/well-known… theorem.
