動詞 discuss の使い方について

正しくありません。
「discuss」は他動詞です。ここでその直接目的語は「that these terms should cancel」という名詞節になっています。原則として名詞節が「discuss」の目的語になりえないのです。（一般に、名詞節が直接目的語になることもあるから、当該文章における誤りは文法上の問題ではなく、意味上の問題です。）修正文として以下のいずれかが適切でしょう。
(1) Below, we discuss the reason that these terms must cancel.
(2) Below, we argue that these terms must cancel.
(3) Below, we demonstrate that these terms must cancel.
これらの修正文で「that these terms must cancel」は、(1)では「reason」を修飾する形容詞節となり、一方、(2)と(3)では名詞節となっています。
